Our latest gender pay gap report, published today, shows that there has been an increase in the number of women in the most senior roles at the NMC, reducing our mean gender pay gap to 1.6 percent.
This is the second year running we’ve published this report, which outlines the differences in pay between men and women at the organisation.
The report also shows that:
Compared to 2017 there are proportionally more females in the lowest two pay grades which results in the slight increase in the median pay gap from 3.73% to 4.77%.
There is a strong representation of female colleagues in middle and senior management roles.
For the second year running, the gender pay gap is significantly lower than the trends reported nationally.
Director of People and Organisational Development, Sarah Daniels said:
“We’re absolutely committed to the principle of equal opportunities for all of our employees, this of course incudes a fair rate of pay for women. For the second year running, we’re well below the national average in terms of gender pay gap, but there is much more we can and will do.”
“Through our work on our employee reward strategy, we’re looking to further drive down the gender pay gap in the coming years and ahead of the implementation of a new pay system we will carry out a further ‘equal pay audit”.
